Pirates got its 2015 Wanganui campaign back on track - albeit a bit patchily - with a 40-30 victory over Kaierau at Spriggens Park today.
Other matches produced interesting results with Utiku Old Boys thrashing Marist 52-23 and Taihape shutting out Ratana 35-0 at Ratana.

Early days in the re-arranged Wanganui premier rugby competition, and early surprises - Kaierau dealing to Ruapehu 38-24, and at Ohakune at that!
It’s an interesting result because Kaierau has had a poorish past two seasons.

Bridget Belsham will switch from greyhound racing administration to rugby when she becomes the first woman in the 128-year history of the Wanganui Rugby Football Union to be named as the union’s chief executive officer.
The 38-year-old will also become the youngest WRFU CEO when she takes over the role on March 2nd .
