This historic Wanganui Rowing Club building was restored to house the early stages of Waimarie's restoration and the Riverboat Museum. The museum displays tell the story of the riverboat era through a full photographic record of the salvage of Waimarie and fascinating displays of river-related artefacts.
From here you can travel abroad PS Waimarie, New Zealands last steam-powered, coal-fired paddle-steamer, or sometimes, on the restored MV Wairua (est. 1904). |
